The biophysical phenomenon of enhanced ultraweak photon emission - necrotic or degradative radiation (NR) accompanying an irreversible perturbation of biohemostasis of a living organism is holistically integrated with the Omega-Point (W -PT) cosmological theory (Tipler, 1995) on the basis of a possible information contents about the dying organism and the necessity of its conservation. The presentation starts with a short review on the photonic response of plant and lower animal cellular systems in vivo to lethal doses of physical and chemical stress factors. Kinetic and spectral characteristics are provided. Then, single photon counting experiments with worms, molluscs and insects show that in the case of irreversible perturbation of biohomeostasis leading to the death of an organism, NR occurs mainly with an oscillatory character. Photon emission images from a dying mouse treated with acetone and recorded by means of a high sensitivity CCD camera are also shown. The proposed mechanistic models of NR include: (i) conformational changes in the superhelices of DNA (Popp et al., 1981) and (ii) radical chain reactions in the lipid membranes (Slawinski et al., 1992).
All these processes decrease the quality energetic factor Q= Estored / 2p Elost value of the living organism that leads to the decrease in the photon storage capacity and an increased emission (analogously like a closed or open resonant RLC electric circuit).
In the second part of the lecture the informational aspects of NR are considered. It may be a 1 bit noise or an epiphenomenon associated with the information transcription into another information medium. If one assume that the NR is a kind of the electromagnetic holographic replica of the dying organism alike a multidimensional wave packet, then, according with the Einsteins STR, this replica or a virtual human equivalent personality exists in the timeless dimension. Since the metrical time does not flow for a photon, this may be considered as an immortality (Slawinski, 1987, 1989).
The third part of the presentation overarches the empirical evidence of NR with the hypothetical conservation of its information contents and the evolution of Cosmos. Cosmological hypotheses ( Brodziak, 1991; Tipler 1995; Onyszkiewicz 1999) provide arguments for the necessity of the information conservation of the all virtual human equivalent personalities till the W -P in order to evaluate their accomplishments and usefulness for the cosmic evolution.
The proposed hypothesis fits well with the modern scientific description of the Universe and may appear a significant step in the everlasting search for solving fundamental ontological problems.
The photon counting time series from NR of dying yeast cells were artistically elaborated. For the first time in the history of art. and science the most dramatic unavoidable act - dying/death - has been experimentally measured as a biophoton emission that was transformed into the audiovisual composition named Requiem"Ò , a video-music multimedial CD performance.
